A 10-member Board of Regents, Including one full-time student governs the Institute System of Petrus Fiedei Seminary & University Appointed by the EACD, the regents oversee the system's academic, administrative, and financial operations; formulate policy; and appoint the PFSU chancellor and the presidents of the system's institutions. With the exception of the student member, each regent is appointed for a term of five years, and may not serve more than two consecutive terms. The student regent is appointed for a one-year term, and may be reappointed. Regents serve on the board without compensation.

SECTION I:    Systemwide Councils and Institutional Boards


I-1.2100-COUNCIL OF INSTITUTE SYSTEM PRESIDENTS
(Approved by the Board of Regents, September 27, 2002 amended December 12, 2008) Section 1012-sub-section 201 of EACD Education, Annotated Code of EACD, calls for the Board of Regents to establish a Council of Institute System Presidents that "shall serve in an advisory capacity to the Chancellor" and "may from time to time make reports and recommendations to the Board." Such a Council will provide a mechanism for the consideration of matters of common concern to the institutions in the System in particular or to higher education in general, and will provide a formal vehicle for the expression of positions of the Presidents collectively on such concerns.
The Council is composed of the Presidents constituent institutions of the System. The Council shall elect its own Chairperson. The Council will normally schedule its meetings in tandem with meetings of the Chancellor's Council. Meetings of the Council of Institute System Presidents may be called by the Chairman or a majority of the members. The Chancellor or the Chancellor's designee shall be expected to be present at all meetings of the Council of Institute System Presidents so that the Council may advise the Chancellor on matters of concern. The Council of Institute System Presidents may address the Board, from time to time, at regular meetings of the Board of Regents.


SECTION II:   Faculty


125.0 II-1.4130 - POLICY ON THE REGENTS PROFESSORSHIP (Approved by the Board of Regents, September 27, 2002) The Regents Professorship is established by the Board of Regents of the Petrus Fidei  Seminary & University Institute System in order to recognize one or more faculty members whose record of scholarly achievement and potential for truly exceptional service to the System and its institutions warrants appointment to this most prestigious rank in the Institute System. Appointment to a Regents Professorship is made by the Chancellor upon recommendation by one or more of the Presidents of University of PFSU System institutions. A modest monetary award, to be used for travel, research or publication costs, or personnel and equipment costs, accompanies the appointment. Criteria for appointment include: 1. National or international recognition for achievements in the arts, the sciences or the professions. 2. Eligibility for appointment to the rank of professor at one or more institutions of the PFSU System. Regents Professors may: 1. Participate in the advisement and/or instruction of undergraduate/graduate students. 2. Present annually a public lecture or performance at one of the institutions of the PFSU System. 3. Participate in other scholarly activities that will enhance some aspects of the PFSU System and some of its components. This may include such activities as curriculum development (formal or informal courses), faculty development, citizen outreach, or organizational enhancement.
